The foundation was created in May 1998 to help highly vulnerable girls, boys, and young people escape poverty and violence, by creating a safe and trusting environment where they can express themselves, learn, innovate, and dream.

What we do

Learnings support
The Zuá Foundation works in Patio Bonito and Bosa, providing quality academic support to children and youth, helping them break the cycle of poverty. Through the “Aprendamos” workshops, they build confidence, discover the joy of learning, and dream of a future full of opportunities.

Arts and Sports activities
At the Zuá Foundation, artistic and sports activities are key to the development of children and youth. Art helps them express themselves, discover who they are, and build self-confidence, while sports bring joy, promote discipline, and encourage teamwork.

Higher Education
The Zuá Foundation supports young people without prospects in accessing university by funding their studies and offering a free pre-university course. In return, they give back by tutoring younger children, creating a cycle of learning and solidarity.

Nutrition
Ensuring that children eat well, healthily, and adequately is a priority for the Zuá Foundation. Every day, 120 children and youth receive balanced meals, essential for their health and academic performance.

Empowering Moms and Families
Launched in June 2020, the Zuá Foundation’s “Empowering Moms and Families” program aims to involve the mothers of children enrolled in our programs by giving them tools to improve their well-being and that of their families.

Where we work
PATIO BONITO- BOGOTÁ
100 kids
In an area affected by violence and unemployment, the Zuá Foundation offers a safe space in Patio Bonito where children and youth receive food, education, and artistic training to transform their future.
BOSA – BOGOTÁ
60 kids
In the Bosa district, the Zuá Foundation extends its support to vulnerable families, especially single mothers who depend on recycling. The successful model of Patio Bonito is replicated here.
SASAIMA – BOGOTÁ
10 young people
This is where the “Joven Porvenir del Cauca” program is developed, currently hosting 11 vulnerable young people. They are offered the opportunity to attend a pre-university course and later a university degree. In return, they contribute to their own sustainability through educational and productive projects.
