The testimony of our tutor: Anderson

I am Anderson Gómez, proudly from the Cauca Department. In 2021, Fundación Zúa opened the doors to a future that once seemed unreachable. Thanks to their support, I was able to begin my Systems Engineering studies remotely from the Los Senderos Rural Site.

Those three semesters not only provided me with technical knowledge but also with the confidence and tools necessary to overcome academic challenges. Today, with great satisfaction, I am currently in my 4th semester at the National University of Colombia.

To this day, I continue participating as compensation for the help I received at the Palmitas Site in Bogotá, helping with Natural Sciences reinforcement, and at the Los Senderos Site, performing agricultural and academic work. I deeply thank the Foundation for all the help provided.

The testimony of the coordinator: Diana

My journey with the Foundation began in March 2003, a path of learning, growth, and service. Thanks to the Foundation’s Higher Education program, I earned a degree in Artistic Education from the University of Tolima, a Master’s in Social Management from the Minuto de Dios University, and a specialization in Volunteering from La Salle University.

I have accompanied and guided numerous children, young people, and mothers in their educational processes, providing support with homework and academic reinforcement. I also had the privilege of coordinating various Foundation programs, such as dance, sports, and theater groups. Additionally, I have supported university internships and volunteer programs, both national and international.

Since 2013, I have proudly coordinated the main site in Patio Bonito, working every day to transform lives through education and comprehensive support. Because of this, I have been able to achieve great goals and generate a positive impact in the community.

My experience at the Foundation has been transformative and has changed my life in a significant way. Since I joined in 2014 as a child, the Foundation has provided me with opportunities and support to grow and develop.
In 2023, I had the opportunity to join the Foundation’s team as a tutor, which has been an amazing experience. It has been a privilege to share my knowledge and experiences with all the children.

Thanks to Fundación Zúa, I have the opportunity to study a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, which has been a dream for me. Currently, I am pursuing my studies and hope to graduate soon.
The Foundation has taught me the importance of perseverance, discipline, and passion for what I do. I feel lucky to be part of this community committed to the education and holistic development of children.

The testimony of our volunteer: Pedro

I volunteered at Fundación Zuá for 6 weeks. They were amazing and intense weeks, full of learning and achievements. I learned many things, like the language, culture, among other things. My relationship with the children was wonderful; I had never felt so loved in my life.
I was very happy to learn about their dreams and encourage them to persevere, which motivated me even more. Fundación Zuá is extremely important for everyone there, whether they are a person receiving assistance or even a teacher. I plan to return and help even more, give more of myself, and learn. This experience changed me as a professional and, above all, as a person. I am very grateful to the foundation for this, I love you all!
